The four studios listed here are all European developers, but they work at different scales. CD Projekt Red says it is a video game development studio with locations in Warsaw, Kraków, Wrocław, Vancouver and Boston. It describes itself as independent, with over 1,200 people, and says its mission is to create role-playing games with memorable stories.

Larian Studios says it was founded in 1996 in Gent, Belgium, and is known for the Divinity series and Baldur's Gate 3. It now has seven studios, in Gent, Barcelona, Dublin, Guildford, Kuala Lumpur, Quebec and Warsaw. Remedy says its games have been made into books, comics, concerts, TV series and a Hollywood movie. Ubisoft's homepage lists Assassin's Creed and Rainbow Six among its game worlds.

When you choose between them, compare the genres you like, whether a game is single player or online, which platform it runs on and what the store page says about extra paid content.
